Do you run a preschool or daycare in Alberta and need licensing or want to qualify for grants?

Under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, Alberta has introduced several funding initiatives to make childcare more affordable and accessible. While both for-profit and non-profit child care providers (such as daycares) in Alberta can access certain funding supports, non-profit organizations have additional opportunities.
Here’s how your organization can benefit.
Alberta Affordability Grants: Starting April 1, 2025, Alberta will implement a flat monthly parent fee of $326.25 for full-time care and $230 for part-time care for children up to kindergarten age. Licensed child care programs that commit to these fee structures are eligible for affordability grants.
Alberta Capital Grant Program: This program offers one-time capital funding exclusively to licensed non-profit and public childcare providers (like daycares) to support the creation of new full-time early learning and child care spaces. Grants can be up to $30,000 per child care space, depending on the project's scope.
can help you assess your eligibility, incorporate as a non-profit, and structure your child care program to align with Alberta’s new funding and licensing requirements.
