Before becoming a lawyer, Sebastian Elawny co-founded an IT company in 1999, where he developed a passion for technology and entrepreneurship that continues to shape how Outsiders approaches legal problems.
Sebastian spent 11 years at a large multinational law firm, eventually leading the tax group, and helped build a law practice with a Big 4 accounting firm. While that work was successful, he realized traditional law firms were not built for the kind of innovation and strategic support that today’s businesses and charities need. In October 2021, Sebastian launched Outsiders Law to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice and strategic planning.

With over 14 years of legal experience, most of which was spent in leadership roles at a large multinational law firm and as the founding partner of a Big-4 law firm, Sebastian has lead legal teams in delivering an extensive range of commercial and M&A transactions.
As a former tax partner and team lead, Sebastian's ability to combine business and tax advice allows him to provide practical and timely advice to clients. He has also developed specialist knowledge in the Charities & Not-for-Profits space, having completed a number of amalgamations, corporate restructurings, defences of activities and new charity structuring/applications.

Chace Stokowski
Corporate & M&A Machine
Chace is a corporate lawyer at Outsiders Law with deep experience advising businesses at every stage of growth. Before joining Outsiders, he built a robust corporate law practice focused on corporate reorganizations, financings, and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements. Clients value Chace for his practical, hands-on approach and his ability to align legal strategy with real-world business goals.
What sets Chace apart is his strong background in finance. Before his legal career, he worked as an audit and assurance manager, giving him a comprehensive understanding of financial operations. As both a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), he brings a rare and valuable dual perspective to his work—particularly in matters where financial and legal issues intersect.
With qualifications in both law and finance, Chace approaches every engagement with a deep understanding of how business and legal considerations fit together. His goal is to provide thoughtful, effective legal counsel that helps clients succeed.

Lex Klombies
Charity & NPO Afficionado
Lex Klombies is a seasoned corporate and tax lawyer at Outsiders Law, with a focus on advising charities, non-profits, and RCAAAs on compliance with corporate legislation. Lex frequently conducts governance reviews to align clients with best practices in their sector, and structures contractual arrangements to ensure legal compliance and long-term mission alignment.
Her extensive experience includes navigating complex tax regulations and advising on charitable donations, ensuring organizations maximize their impact while adhering to legal requirements. Lex’s dedication to social justice and community development continues to make her a respected figure in the legal and non-profit sectors.
Lex has been called to the bar in Ontario and Alberta. Prior to moving home to Alberta and joining Outsiders Law, Lex was elected for two terms on the Ontario Bar Association's Charity and Non-Profit Section Executive.

Rahul Tandon
Corporate Paralegalizer
Rahul is an internationally trained lawyer and is pursuing his license to practice law in Canada. He holds a postgraduate degree in business law and has an understanding of common law principles. Rahul’s work spans drafting, regulatory compliance, and cross-jurisdictional filings, including acting as a registry agent in Alberta. Rahul handles everything relating to corporate compliance for Outsiders Law.
With a growing focus on nonprofit and charity law, Rahul is committed to ongoing learning and expanding his expertise across corporate, nonprofit, and charitable legal frameworks. His detail-oriented approach and cross-border legal insight support the firm’s mission to provide plain-language, practical legal guidance to Canadian businesses and nonprofits.

Student-at-Everything
Curran Dutta is Outsiders Law’s very own Student-at-Everything, which basically means he’s part law student, part compliance wizard, and part “yes, I can figure that out” machine.
When he’s not digging into due diligence reports or keeping corporate compliance in check, Curran is happily taking on whatever curveball the team throws his way — research, drafting, problem-solving, or general legal heroics. Curious, sharp, and endlessly adaptable, he’s always learning, always helping, and always up for the next challenge.

Office Boss
Jessica Griffiths is Outsiders Law’s Office Boss (though some suspect “Chief Chaos Tamer & Organizer Extraordinaire” captures her spirit even better).
As the engine that keeps everything running smoothly, she handles calendars, coordination, communication, and the kind of logistical puzzles that make mere mortals weep.
From onboarding to office vibes, Jessica brings clarity, calm, and a perfectly-timed reminder to every corner of the firm. If Outsiders Law were a well-choreographed dance… she’s absolutely the one calling the shots.
